You may have heard of kimchi, but you maybe don’t know what is means to Koreans. Kimchi is a traditional fermented Korean side dish, which is more than just vegetables made with various seasonings. As it demonstrates the identity of a nation, kimchi has become a symbol for all Korean people.
If you ask Koreans whether they can serve meals without kimchi, 9 out of 10 people will answer with a big no, because kimchi is inherent to all Koreans. Even when travel to overseas, many Koreans bring some packs of kimchi in their suitcase.
